"Facing Trials of Many Kinds"

Finding Hope and Joy in Our Trials, Reading from James 1:1-8

"Consider it pure joy, whenever you face trials of many kinds." [verse 2 N.I.V.] Living Bible asks "is your life full of difficulties and temptations?" Then be happy for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow and don't try to squirm out of your problems. For when you patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete. [James 1:2-4] Kind David said, "The punishment you allowed was the best thing that could happen to me because it taught me to pay attenttion to your laws. [Psalms 119: 71,72] God will work as you trust him and let him have his way. No need to fear when toruble comes, affliction can bring out the best in you. God can teach you the lessons he wants you to learn. Our trials work for us not against, and develop Christian character. Suffering has purpose [see Romans 5:3,4] Tribulation is not something anyone seeks but when it comes the Holy Spirit will use it to create in us, perseverance,character and hope.

Hebrews 12:5,6. These verses say, that if you feel God disciplining you, rejoice. It's a sign of sonship. If he doesn't discipline, you are not his child. How are we to respond to trials fo discipine? By not resisting them. They come from a loving Father and we need to open out hearts to these trials so that the Lord might correct us through them and put us on the right path. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

For every pain we must bear,
for every burden, every care,
there's a reason.

For every grief that bows the head,
for every teardrop that is shed,
there's a reason.

For every hurt, for every plight,
for every lonely, pain-racked night,
there's a reason.

But if we trust God, as we should,
it will work out for our good;
He knows the reason.
